M: Yes.
C: Have you ever been abroad?
M: Not yet.

C: How long have you been with XXX?
M: three years till August.
C: How much did they pay you at first?
M: XXX RMB. My current salary is nearly XXX RMB.
C: Per year.
M: Yes. This is my employment certificate, pay slips and bank passbook.
C: (指着存折.) Why there is no cover?
M: This passbook is used up and the bank wants it back. I want to keep the original so they cut the cover.
C: Show me all your bank statements. (He calculated how much money I will pay by myself.) You have 20,000 USD for your expense.
M: Yes.
C: (仔细看存款证明.)
M: (赶忙递进去存款总结) This is my checklist.
C: I don’t need checklist.
M: I mean deposit checklist.

C: What will you do after graduation?

C: How much will your salary be?
M: 600,000 RMB.
C: Your salary can not be so high.
M: I can if I work for McKinsey or BCG.
C: 600,000 RMB? With this salary, they will hire a German to do this job.
M: Because we are more familiar with Chinese companies.
C: Germans are familiar too.
M: (一句话也说不出来.)
C: Now your salary is XXX with XXX. (总之,他觉得这份工作就不错了.) After you spend so much money, I don’t believe you will come back.
M: But my long term goal is to…………(脑子一片空白.)
C: After you spend so much money, I don’t believe you will come back. You are welcomed to apply for visa to work in U.S. You are not qualified for student visa.

他好像不知道我被拒签过. 手里也没有上一次的表..
C: How are you? (笑容满面)
M: Fine, thank you. Thank you for giving me a second chance to see a visa officer. It is a bit cold here.
C: Cold is at least better than hot. You are going to pursue MBA?
M: Yes.
C: How many years do you work?
M: five years.
C: What company do you work for?
M: XXX
C: a good company. What do you do?
M: I am a quality engineer. I conduct quality and operation management on construction projects for clients such as Motorola, IBM and Kodak.
C: You construct buildings. It is good. You are going to spend almost 100,000 USD on your degree. How do you earn it back?
M: I want to be a consultant to help Chinese companies to improve their quality and operation management. With my five years of quality and operation management experience on Chinese companies and TOP 20 MBA, I will be a talent top consulting companies will be seeking for.
C: Why not Chinese b-school? It is much cheaper.
M: Chinese b-schools don’t provide programs focus on operation and technology, the field I am interested in. Money is not a problem for my family. (十分自信)
C: How many school did you apply?
M: Five.
C: What are they?
M: A, B, C, D, E. Two gave me admissions.
C: It is good. Any scholarship?
M: No.
C: What company do you plan to work for?
M: I plan to work for Booz Allen, Deloitte, KPMG & IBM business consulting. These companies are top recruiters of XXX. Last year they provided 25 available positions to MBA graduates in their China offices and XXX got 2.
C: Really?
M: Yes. (十分自信) The salary will be from 350,000 to 500,000 RMB.
C: How much do you think you can earn after graduation? I mean the salary range you mention is wide.
M: 400,000 RMB including bonus. The salary will be increased more after being promoted to senior consultant.
C: Which company do you prefer to work?
M: (满脸疑惑. 我不是说过了吗?)
C: The companies you mentioned just now. Which do you prefer?
M: Deloitte.
C: Why?
M: Deloitte is very strong at operation consulting, the field I am strong at and interested in.
C: You speak excellent English, why not landing a job in U.S.?
M: Because here I will have more responsibilities and more impact on Chinese companies than anywhere else. (情绪高昂,像在演话剧)
C: you are fine. Please go to window 11.
M: Thank you. Have a nice day.
