Rutgers Mathematical Finance (MSMF) 2013级 internship 情况

Rutgers MSMF 2013级一共43个人，30多个中国人，上了一年，过了一个暑假，给大家汇报一下internship情况:
一共找到实习的快20个，暑假刚刚结束，我还没具体去问，有很多都去了比较好的机构，不完全统计如下：
Citi 1人
JP Morgan 1人
Numerix 3人（楼主去的就是这儿，个人认为如果将来想做Quant，Numerix是最理想的公司，position很match quant背景的学生, structure products model 2012、2013两年全美第一，Bloomberg才第2和第6，而且Numerix很喜欢我们专业的学生，很多学长学姐都在那）
百度搜索copy过来的公司描述：Numerix公司是国际顶尖的数量金融公司，主要从事结构化金融产品定价和风险计算。其客户遍及国际及国内的700多家商业银行、投资银行、基金公司及其它金融机构。公司总部设在纽约，在全球许多国家设有Office。纽约总部的研发部门有90多位金融工程、数学、物理方面的博士从事资产定价和风险计算研究。
Metlife 2人（美国很有名的保险公司，Metlife大楼就在NYC 42街，从Grand Central可以直接上去，很霸气）
Ernest Young 1人
Russell Investments 1人 学finance的可能接触到罗素指数，这个公司很有名
还有一个哥们去了Wall Street上的一家公司，名字忘了，职位是support desk quant
其他的大大小小的公司我还没统计，等开学之后问问他们。
我觉得第一个暑假拿下这样的数据还算不错了，现在美国形势大好，金融危机的影响已经过去了，大家好好努力吧！

可以，第一学期会上一门programming finance的课，就是c++，努力学完之后就算入门了，后面几个学期也有一些用c++编程的可，computational finance很难 但很有用
There will be at least one applied math course, one finance related math course and one pure statistics course for each semester. Applied math course like numerical analyze and finace related math course like stochastic calculus would be most tough course, actually it depends on the professor who will teach that course. The first two semesters will be a little bit tough.
Hi can i know more about the program of Rutgers? Is is tough and difficult？ how about the math ? I am major in finance not in the sciences so I wonder how hard it will be for me to study finance engineering. Moreover some questions about your other choices.....why did not you choose the uiuc ?
I have a friend there, who is my high school classmate. She told me the career statistics is pretty good this year. And I went to an IAQF seminar held in NYC, what I heard from people in the industry and people from other quant programs was really positive. Good Luck, sorry for bing so rude.
Okay maybe I am mistaken about that cuz i have no clue what's going on with Chinese student previously..
But I guess my point being the financial crisis hasnt passed entirely and banks really did not do well in the previous quarter except for Goldman. I have no intention to start a fight, but i guess we should provide objective opinion in the first place.
But I totally agree with the fact that markets is picking up and MFEers will benefit from this as I posted before.

This one is more objective, but if you can have a deeper look at how many international students, especially Chinese students, in different quant programs successfully getting internship, compared to the situation over past few years, then you will know how lucky we are today and how great those opportunities are to us.
