UBC 面经 [2021.11.27]

Timeline:

10.26 提交
10.29 三封推荐信交齐（只要求两份，但是我经理原意提供一份工作推荐）
10.29 收到邮件显示已经呈送 AC 审理
11.15 面试邀请
11.27 面试完成
12.09 正式 offer

面经：

面试官是 UBC 雇的第三方 recruitment consultant，叫 Adriana，来自巴西，但是现在定居温哥华，非常平易近人，所以面试的时候很放松，自我感觉是最好的一次面试体验，答案和肢体语言等掌控得都比较满意。面试的注重点放在 behavioral questions，academic questions 没问，她一开始就说不会问我学习方面的问题。面试时长因人而异，她说在 20-40 mins，可我面了 1 小时左右（主要是互动很多），嘴都说干了。

没有想港科那样的正式的自我介绍，因为她一开始就让我想象我们在 bar 相遇，然后像朋友一样交谈让她了解我，当时觉得蛮有趣的。光寒暄就接近 15 分钟，然后才进入正题。
Tell me something that is not on your resume.
What are your short-term and long-term career goals? 这个问得很细致，包括什么领域，title，工作地点，公司偏好，领域内细分的 specialisation.
Why Sauder MBAN, did you apply to other BA programmes? (回答具体申请了哪些)，然后又问为什么申请那些？
Why Canada? (我是英本，所以这样问了)
How do you define leadership and show me a situation when you demonstrated leadership?
Show me a case when you demonstrated teamwork, and what do you think matter the most in a team?
I am not a technician, but please can you explain clearly to me what did you do using programming languages during your internships and what outcomes did you achieve? (我简历上写了实习中用到的 R 和 Python 的几个 packages，她不懂（我也不知道她是不是真的不懂），要我通俗地解释给她听)
What have you done until now to prepare for the programme and what you will do to be able to handle the intensity of this programme?
Please can you tell me what explicitly you can bring into this programme and to your cohort? (文书里面有回答这个问题，但是她觉得回答地太 vague，要我补充)
If I ask your friends or colleagues about you, what will they tell me about you?
The feedback you received from your supervisor in terms of in what aspect you could improve your leadership.

最后的时候可能她觉得已经超过了 20 多分钟了，也没让我提问，是我主动问了两个问题（的确比较感兴趣），然后她又回答了 15 分钟左右，前前后后一共花了一个多小时吧

总结和建议：

UBC Sauder 面试的结构总体和港科差不太多，但是是增长版的，更加细化，会问 tech 问题，但不会特别深入，就像 8 那样问，像港科那样的具体学术上的问题我没被问到。同样给三个建议吧：

这个项目感觉对工作经验的考量大点，所以很像工作的面试，建议多练 behavioral questions.
放轻松，但是不要随意答，虽然面试官是说像朋友一样聊天，但自己要明白这是一场面试，自己说出来的话要往文书和简历描述的方向靠拢，以及迎合项目偏好，不要说没意义的话。
口语很重要，这个时长下来，如果说得磕磕巴巴会很奔溃。
