回答：
My name is Zhepeng Ren from China（You can call me Simon)， I am 23 years old. And I am an undergraduate of Jiangxi university of finance and economic, major in statistics.
What's more, I’m an active news follower myself. I pay attention to regional and international economic updates, and read plenty commentaries on Wall Street Journal and the Economist. Specifically, I tried to cultivate my critical thinking abilities by asking questions beyond phenomenon. For example, I’m curious why phones made by Xiao Mi have such low price and market shares despite of high quality and reputation.
During my undergraduate period, I took a lot of statistical courses, such as Mathematical Analysis, Statistical Analysis and Higher Algebra. Besides, I acquired a lot of programming skills. Recently due to the impact of coronavirus, I took University of Michigan’s Applied Data Science with Python course at home, further adapting myself to this language.

回答：
Why BA—— As an economics major, I gained rigorous training through Mathematical Analysis, Multivariate Statistical Analysis, and Macroeconomics. I’ve taken Python and SAS courses on Coursera. Out of the classroom, I enjoyed solving real life problems with data analytics. From various internships and competitions focusing on data analytics, I was deeply impressed with this powerful model, and made up my mind to continue working as a data analyst in the future.
Interests+how help career goals——My career goal is to work as a data analyst in a high-tech company like Yelp or Trip Advisor. Therefore, with the systematic training obtained from your program, I hope to improve the customers’ experience through my data analytical skills. I am willing to engage in researching the consumer preference in order to provide more considerable services for consumers.
Contribute——I think I can contribute to the Weather head culture by inspiring people around me. As an easy-going person, I’m good at breaking the ice and bringing people together. Even when facing challenges, I’m always the one lightening up the mood and seeking solutions. I believe my extravert personality can bring positive energy to the program.

回答： Brandeis、Fordham——location, which means that there are larger job markets. So they could provide more job opportunities for new Graduates. As a result, I think it’s beneficial for my future career development.
RPI——curriculum more technical,by using this benefit, make more solid foundation of programming.

项目 case：
My participation in the Challenge Cup” Contest has shaped me into a responsible and considerate leader. I led a team to analyze the impact of underground train construction on the city of Nanchang, focusing on urban economic growth, commercial and residential real estate sale using a difference-in-difference (DID) model. However, the project didn’t go according to plan at first. We don’t have any official data on the new underground train project, and has to design and distribute surveys on our own. With a tight time frame and strict sample size requirement, it seemed like we can’t finish it on time. Thus, I decided to talk to our mentor and took the initiative of distributing surveys online. Then I held a team meeting to urge everyone to do the same, reaching out to contacts and obtaining at least 600 samples. Sensing their anxiety, I also calmed them down and assured that together we can make this happen. We ended up collecting enough data five days ahead of time. Eventually, our analysis won the second prize.
This five-month project allows me to understand what a qualified leader should do when facing difficulties. Instead of feeling anxious, I should focus on expanding my resources and asking for advice. Moreover, a good leader must be aware of the team morale at all times. This experience has shaped my identity and transferred me into a better leader.
