Location: Singapore

Program: MBA
Funding: Scholarship + self support
The US embassy open on 9:00am in Singapore, I arrived a bit early (8:45am). So I became the first person interviewed. Before my number was called, I was chatting with a girl who is going to Harvard for MBA, she worked in NY for four year in IB and now she want to change to retail management. What a girl! I almost missed my turn while chatting…:)
Experience:
Me: Good Morning
VO: Good morning, I can tell you are the person in the photo. (Smile, because I wear the same suit as in my photo).
Me: Yeah! That is right and laugh..
VO: So you are going to xxx for Masters study?
Me: No, I am going for my MBA with a concentration in xxx
VO: How long have you been Singapore?
Me: about 5 years.( vo writing down on my form)
Vo: where you working at?
Me: I am working with xxx ( vo writing down on my form)
VO: That is good company. So your company give a leave for your study?
Me: No, I will resign from my company because 2 years is too long.
VO: So your company will pay for you fees?
Me: No, I will pay by myself and I got some scholarship from the school.
VO: well, xxx(my company name) should pay for it, you will be more valuable after you get your MBA from xxx university.
Me: Laugh..yeah,.. That is right… I should talk to my company about this.
VO: So what is your plan after graduation?
Me: I will come back to Singapore or ShangHai. I have good experience in MNC and strong advantage in Chinese culture.…
VO: Ok, I will give you the visa, but the Sevic system is down for the coming a couple of days. I will let you know when the system is up.
Me: No problem.
The whole process is very short, about 3 –5 minutes. Maybe he didn’t find any excuse to reject me. Or it is easy here in Singapore… Heard so many bad news from BJ, I really feel sorry about that. Cheer up! You will make it! We have been work hard for our MBA applications for about a year or more after all. Maybe we need more perseverance. Good luck!
