M: Hi, how are you?
VO: Good, and you?
M: Great. Thanks.
M: Here is the checklist of all the documents I have brought with me. Would you like to have a look? (showed the list (my name card is also attached to it) to her outside the window.)
VO:(smile), Not necessary
VO: What have you done in the past?
M: I have been working for XXXX for over 7 years, including three years in YYY (country name).
VO: You worked in YYY for 3 years?
M: That’s right. But I came back b/c had no sense of belonging to there, no sense of being at home. I was foreigner everywhere I went. I guess you sharing my feeling here in China.
VO: (Smile) You are going to spend a lot of money on your study at XXX. How many schools did you apply? Did any of them give you financial aid?
M:I applied 6 schools, four accepted me. Two gave me $$$$$ per year. But I decided to take the best one rather than the cheapest one b/c quality matters most to me so long as I have enough money to pay for it. Would you like to see my financial documents?
VO: How much do you earn?
M: more than 8000 per month. But when I was in YYY, my gross salary was more than $7000, and net income $4000 per month. I have prepared a summary of my source of funding, would you like to have a look? (showed it outside the window,)
VO: Please show me your financial documents.
M: (I gave her the salary certificate by mistake.)
VO: Is that all the money you have? (Surprised, pointing to the figure on the salary letter)
M: (Smiled) Oh, Got the wrong one, here are my deposits. (My 120k)
VO: What will you do upon graduation?
M: I have the experience of setting up a subsidiary for XXXXX in YYYY. International companies that plan to start up the kind of business in China will look for people like me with this startup experience, trilingual ability, cross-cultural management exposure, and with …..(VO gave me a yellow slip).
M: What is it?
VO: I have given you visa.
M: I see. Thank you very much. Have a nice weekend!
