  1. Self-introduction
  2. Why Rochester?
First, of course is the respectability of the name and well-known quality of education. Rochester is a renowned university, especially in China. Rochester always appears on the list of recruitment and selection of school. A lot of big security companies, such as CITIC Securities Company and Morgan Stanley Huaxin Securities, like hiring graduates from Simon.
Another reason I choose Rochester is the alumni, especially the Chinese alumni. When I worked at Everbright Security, one of the senior manager is graduated from Simon. Every time when I talk with him, he is eager to answer every question and welcome me to become a member of Simon. He is experts in field of Accounting. He share some books with me and provide me suggestions of my long-term career.
  3. Why Simon/ How do you think Simon can help you?
Q2+According to the employment report on your school’ website, the average salary of MSF graduates is as high as about $60,000, so I believe Simon will help me finding a well-paid job in a big company in China. Career service is another reason makes me choose Simon. I know the success of Simon’ students comes not just from the worldwide reputation of Rochester. Thanks to alumni, faculty and professors of Simon Career Management Center, they provide tremendous support to their students. They are very involved and engaged in the life of students. It’s more than just to get you a job or modify your resume. They really guide you through your whole career. For instance, they organize extracurricular activities, like Simon Finance and Investment Club, and help student to develop their personal career management strategy. I prefer the internship track, because it offers opportunities of internship in the United State. And I am quite sure the experience of internship in the United State will not only improve my resume, but also shape my global perspective of financial market, which I believe is very important for me to analyze assets in the future. What attract me the most is Executives in Residence. Simon will invite financial expertise to meet one-on-one with students and answer their career questions. And it must be a great networking opportunities. I also heard from a student who is studying in Simon said the school will provide Shuttle bus between Rochester and New York City for those who are looking for an internship, which is really convenient.
  4. Why MSF
First and most directly, my undergraduate major is finance, so MSF program fits me the best. Although I had learned many financial courses, such as Financial time series and the Principle of Financial engineering last semester, I think those are far from enough. And I really need to improve my knowledge of asset management and Advanced Business Modeling. +Q5 Second, nowadays, with the popular of Fin-tech, businesses no longer have to depend on guesswork. Old fashioned decision making processes typically involved a lot of intuition and trial and error exploration. To catch this trend and satisfy my clients’ need in the future, I wanna learn edge-cutting modelling in Quantitative Finance course at Simon, since data and models are disinterested analysis. With the help of Python and financial mathematical model, empirical analysis and evidence based reasoning is more reliable and logic. Third, the design of the program is also great. The rigorous curriculum is taught by a renowned team of faulty members and is flexible. I am quite interested in case study in MSF program. Those cases will help me to put the theory I learn into to use. When I studied at Columbia University, I find out that Universities in the United State offer more project study opportunities. And by analyzing real world case, I can improve my professional ability, which facilitate me to be more competitive in business environment.
  5. Why graduate now rather than a few years later
Well, to be honest, in China, most of financial institutions require applicants hold at least a master degree. It really hard to be work in the Chinese investment bank with just a bachelor degree, so, to get a good job, I need further education.
  6. 2 internship experience, and what have you learned from them
  7. internship有关的事情,有遇到困难吗怎么解决?
  8. any exchange programs or abroad experience
  9. Leadership*2Q
  10. short/long term career goal, any backup plan
  11. work in US or China
I prefer to take several internship in the United State after graduate from Simon. After all, MSF is a STEM program, I would like to take the advantage of working full-time or part-time in the United State to improve me resume. After working in the United State about 2 or 3 years, I would like go back to China, and work as an analyst in the leading Chinese investment bank at first. Then, +q10.
  12. Strength and weakness
  13. Hobbies/你觉得你能给Simon带来什么?
  14. why you
  15. 你觉得你能在new York state生活的很好嘛
  16. Simon 有各个国家的小伙伴你要怎么适应文化呢
  17. plan for next summer
  18. 是否出国旅游
  19. questions for her
  20. type question:
    1. how will your friends describe you? (3 min)
    2. favourite city + why
