我是5月22号签的，到现在才来补签经，不好意思了。因为我跟我的老板有点纠纷，知道今天才解决。（请允许我八卦一下，我的英国老板很变态，很种族歧视。我去年让他写推荐信的时候，他说Recently there is a group of Chinese students were expelled from Univerity of New Castle. They forged their transcripts and they had glorious recommendation letters from their irresponsible Chinese professors. I think it’s very common for Chinese to forge their transcripts and degree certificates, so I will be very careful if I write something for you. 当时只有我们两在出租车里，我很，我就说There are good and bad Chinese people. It’s the same everywhere in the world, including UK. 请允许我以民族英雄的姿态小得意一下。后来他还是没写推荐信。最近他强迫我多工作几天，因为早前我爷爷病危，我紧急事假回国一周，他不仅拒绝给我假，还居然威胁我说不听他的他就写坏话给我的学校。还说People do give references. This is a very small world. You can't imagine how small the world is!这时候居然开始 用推荐信威胁我了！不过后来我跟领导反映他的威胁了，也跟人事部说明我正式工作结束的情况了，现在我已经自由了，只是他自己自找麻烦，送他)
虽然我是在新加坡签的，但是我是看中国的签经长大的，所以材料啥的也是跟国内的签友一个逻辑准备的。新加坡的签证面试气氛比较严肃，大厅里很安静，人与人根本不会互相认识交谈。这里签证官也比较公正。虽然不一定水，可能问的还比较详细，但应该不会上来两句话不投机就拒人的现象吧。先把我的面试过程写写吧：
VO: How many years have you been in Singapore?
Me: I came in 2001. So far, it’s been more than 7 years.
VO: (repeating my words) 7 years. So you are going to study master in US?
Me: Yes, I’m going to XXX University to study master of accountancy.
VO: (Nod and look at my I20) Accountancy. And you got fellowship?
Me: Yes, sure. The school awarded me fellowship for two years.
VO: (Look at my I20) Where does your family stay?
Me: In China. (因为后来没问回国计划什么的，估计此处VO已经习惯新加坡的中国人给的家庭原因的理由了吧。所以直接就问我家人在哪里了。)
VO: (Repeating my words) In China. (Coming back to the fellowship thing) So you have fellowship, which will cover half of the ……
Me: (发现VO说错了，immediately interrupt) The fellowship will cover the FULL tuition cost.
VO: (Still looking at the I20 and repeating my words) The fellowship will cover the full tuition cost, so you will pay for the living expenses?
Me: Yes, my family will sponsor me. (At the same time, quickly take out the book of my family financial documents)
VO: Can I see your bank statement?
Me: (hand in the whole book containing my father’s two bank statements, my own bank passbook records, my salary pay advice, my tax documents and my father’s business corporate bank statement, all with English translation copies) Here you are. I have prepared a book containing all documents about my family financial assets.
VO: OK. (Roughly turn from the back of the book to the front, and stopped at my father’s bank statements. Carefully look at the numbers and found that the deposit is enough. Return the book to me) Right.
VO: What do your parents do?
Me: My father has his own business.
VO: How many people does he employ?
Me: (从来没正儿八经数过，飞快的在脑海里过目了一下) Roughly 5 or 6, including some family members.
VO: What does your father’s business do?
Me: He sells asphalt.
VO: (Repeating my words) Asphalt. (这几个关于我爸爸生意的问题提问速度很快，我想可能是老外惯用的方法，在极快的提问中看你的反应，从而判断你是不是说谎)
VO: I think there is no problem with your student visa. I will have your documents and you can come to collect it next Wednesday.（然后给我红条）
最后VO留下了护照，DS表格，I20和 SEVIS Fee 收据。后来领签证的时候把I20和 SEVIS Fee 收据还给我了。整个过程中VO很严肃，我每回答一个问题，VO都会重复一遍，连我说话的语气也重复的一样。VO带着像托福考试时用的那种耳麦，有话筒的。我猜想会不会新加坡的面试有录音纪录的。总的来说，VO比较公正，不会存心刁难。只要安心坦然回答，就没有问题的。
再八卦：最后我说: Thank you! Have a nice day. VO表情还是很严肃。也没回我。我收起我那一摊东西，走之前来了句Have a great weekend！（这句也是对我自己说的，这下可以把心彻底放下了）VO这时才觉得我说的够真心，才笑了。所以VO还是有人性的，只是由于他们的工作性质，看了太多程式化的东西了。
说说我是怎么准备的吧。材料方面，我分了四大类：Personal documents, academic records, US school admissions, financial documents.
- Personal documents: DS 表格，I20表格，SEVIS Fee 网上收据和官方寄来的正式收据，护照和护照名字那一页的复印件（以前签德国签证的时候用到过，这次就准备了，后来没用上），个人履历表以及履历表上每个工作或attachment的证明信或邀请函，出生证明，父母和自己的中国身份证及户口彩色复印件（因为父母不在新加坡），自己新加坡永久居民身份证和5年有效的入境准许。
- Academic records: 本科成绩单，本科毕业证书，本科的四年Dean’s list 证书，本科学校获奖证书，本科学校的brochure，GT成绩单，和毕业设计论文的摘要。因为我只有本科学历，所以只有这些。
- US school admissions: 我被Suffolk和Bentley录取的，带了两个学校的admission package，学校的brochure。Suffolk的定金收据，和奖学金信件.
- Financial documents: Father’s supporting letter, father’s bank statements, my own bank passbook, my salary pay advice, my tax statement, my father’s corporate bank account statement, my father’s business license, father’s name card, father’s stock investment certificate, family house certificate, and vehicle certificate. 由于我开的是国内的中文原件，在新加坡签，所以我让老爸在国内的翻译社准备了所有的英文翻译件，花了1000－2000块人民币。可是后来VO只看了银行存款证明，而银行存款证明开出来就是中英文都有的……..无语。（辛苦老爸了！女儿好感激！）而且VO上来就看存款数字，丝毫不看老爸的名字，估计我要是在地上捡一张巨额存款证明，VO也会让我过的…….
我自己的背景：我是新加坡本科生物毕业的，转行去读accounting，以前完全没有这方面的背景。1年半工作经验，做的是生物研究。2007年底去过德国3个月，做attachment。本来那边的老板想让我多留段时间，准备把我的签证延期的，但是后来说不能延。当时还觉得超级遗憾超级被歧视，不过现在看来反而让签证官觉得我按时回新加坡，加了正面印象分。护照上还有其他几个小国家的旅行签证。回中国的海关盖章颇多，strong tie……..

CD上2008和2009所有的签经我都看了一遍，有的看了不止一遍。边看边想，每个签证官的问题背后的含义是什么，签证官想从这个问题的答案里寻找什么，然后再从接下来的问题看看签证官对上面的回答满意不满意。如果不满意，我该怎么回答才能言简意赅，一语中的。
好了，我签证准备的就这么多了。还有就是英语口语，第一印象很重要，让签证官觉得你是个胸有成竹，明确知道自己要去做什么的人，这样你说的话才会更有说服力。
