Me: Good morning!

v Good morning, how are you?

me: Very well, thank you.

v So you are going to…?

Me: I’m going to UMBS for my MBA.

V UMBS is a great school.  Oh, you are a consultant, what kind of consulting did you do?

Me: We help local enterprises to improve their management on people.

V How long have you been with this company?

Me: For three years.

V How do you pay your tuition?

Me: I use my own saving for the first year and my parents will support me for the second year.

V Would you please show me you financial certificate?

Me: Sure

V (Look it for several seconds) do you bring the bank book?

Me: Here you are.

V Did the school give you any financial assistance?

Me: No.

V Did you apply for it?

Me: No, there is very limited amount of money available for international students and the school granted it based on its own criteria.

V Would you also give me the admission letter?

Me: Yes.

V Are you married?

Me: No.

V How many schools have you applied…

Me: Two and my decision for Michigan was largely influenced by my boss who is an American with extensively experience in hiring those b-school graduates from top schools.  He told me Michigan is a great school and its graduates impressed him a lot.

V Even in the US, $60k is a great amount, what you think about it? (He forgeted I need to pay two years tuition)

Me: Well, in the short-run, it is a great amount. But just considering my salary has more than tripled since I graduated from university, I’m quite confident that my salary will be at least 5 times greater than what I am earning now, given the fact that those strategy houses in China are now paying for new graduates around $70k to $80k annually.

V now here is my last question: when you came back after your MBA, what do you plan to do? (He assumed I would come back)

Me: I want to come back to the consulting again because I enjoyed the challenges it brings about plus this is a still promising business here in the next 5 years.

V Ok, you can go to window… (he is trying to remember the No. of the window and this time I didn’t want to interpret him) …11(three seconds) to take your visa and enjoy your study in Ann Arbor.

Me: Thank you very much.
