LG:Good afternoon, Sir. This is my business card. And this is my wife.
V What are you doing at this company?
LG: I work in this company as a project manager for five years. My duty is to export whole set equipment to Turkish. We have a great potential market there.
VAre you going to study at America?
LG: Yes, I go to study the Master in Industrial Management at XXX University. I think this school is famous for industrial operation, which fits my background.
V (Looking at I-20 form): But your I-20 form writes that it’s a MBA program.
LG: Master in Industrial Management is in fact an intensive one-year MBA program.
V Ok. Who will pay your expenditure?
LG: On my own expense and my wife’s. And, here is a asset list, in which I list all my savings. Do you want to see the Bank certificates? And my salary statement provided by my company and my wife’s salary statement.
VO(看到有一笔美元存款 ):860 D.
ME: My husband often goes to Turkey on business.
LG: You see, I have enough money to afford our living at America.
V What will you do after graduation?
LG: I will come back China. I have worked in mechanical field for five years and accumulated rich network in China and customer resources in Turkey. Perhaps I will come to my current company if it give me promotion. Or I will join an international enterprise.
V Does your company know you will go to study?
LG: No. Because they don’t want me leave.
V What are you doing at Turkey?
LG: We have lots of projects in Turkey, such as…..(VO似乎对TURKEY非常了解,甚至问了LG几个TURKEY的地名。) These are my customers’ business cards (VO将LG的一大本名片夹拿过去仔细看了看)
V Have you ever been to America?
LG: Never. But I have been to Cambodia, Turkey and Hongkong.(把以前的护照拿给VO看,VO也从头翻到尾)
V Good afternoon.
ME: Good afternoon. Sir. This is my business card.
VO(看到我是在报社工作用中文问); 你是记者吗?
ME: No. I’m an advertisement client manager for XXX.
V Have you applied for Visa and when?
ME: I applied to F1 Visa on last June.(VO
VO; Why you change F1 to F2?
ME: Last year, my husband and I both got offers from American Business schools. At that time my husband had a very important project at Turkey to lead, so he persuaded me to apply for F1 Visa. He told me, at least, let one of us realized our dreams. In fact, I was very complicated. At that time, we got married for no more than half a year. But this year, my husband applies to F1 Visa and I will take care of him to cut his pressure during his studying at Purdue. To me, marriage is more important than career.
VO; Ok, you can go to the first window to get your Visas.(给我们一张绿条,在上面写了个“2”)
LG&ME: Thank you very much.
