Minority Report--北美740小结,抛砖引玉

Dear CD GGMMJJDDs,

Today is my day of liberation. Finally I can relax and go back to gym!

I call this report "minority report" because I am a happy mother-to-be. To prepare for GMAT and to adjust to be a mother-to-be is quite a challenge.

I took my test in California and scored 740.

Most important thing I want to share with those potential test-takers is: never rely too much on verbal JJ. All the 41 verbal questions I got are all different from any questions in all the study materials, including 987 DaQuan, LSAT, all XDF materials and OG. The key to higher score in GMAT is to sharpen ur mind in doing all the exercises, and adjust ur thinking mode to ETS way. Sometimes the answer may look weird, but u have to find grounds for that, and remember that thinking mode.

As for Math part, it is just easy for us, because we are smart Chinese. Feifei Math is more difficult than the real test; even the update pp3 2006 version is more difficult. I spent lots of time on combination, possibilities, and did not even encouter one such question in my real test. Oh, my valuable time! But I just console myself that they help to enhance my logical skills. If u can handle GWD math part without difficulty and deal with the real test with caution, u can score 50 or above. Some of the real test questions are exactly the same type as in exercises. So make sure u know how to solve the problem, intead of remembering the answer.

AWA, u should not look down upon it. If u work in a foreign language environment, it should be ok for u. But if u have not write a single English essay for more than one year, u'd better put more weights on it. AA: u only need to formulate ur own template. "7 sins" provides valuable hints; AI, u'd better look through all the topics and remember several classic examples.

Simulation test: PP3 is the best. GWD has too many critical reasoning questions that are from LSAT while too many key SC questions have no definite and authoritative answer. However, it is a valuable set because there are too few choices. Kaplan and Princeton: the formal more difficult than real test while the latter too easy. Moreover, the thinking mode of the two is not exactly the same as ETS. If u have lots of time to kill, u can do them; if not, just do GWD.

At last, I want to thank all the heroes and heroines for their altruistic contribution to CD. Without them, I cannot find such a wonderland that not only enhance my score but also nourish my mind.

Ok, have to prepare for TOEFL and application materials now. Hope everyone chasing dream can make dream come true!!!!!!!!!!!!!
