4年前我给自己规划的，本科毕业后，工作3年，然后继续深造，所以4年前，我就认识了CD，当时准备GMAT，CD给了我很大的帮助，我想一大半申请商学院的中国人都跟CD有缘吧。真心感谢CD这个community!!!
Background sharing:
Bachelor from a top U in Hong Kong, gpa:3.4+
2.5 w/e in a top tier IB, but not f/o
G: 700+; T: 110+
Other highlights: CFA (passed L3); FRM; published research paper (abt trading strategy) on academic journal; speak 4 languages
Application tips:
Essay: very standard PS.
Interview: just relax, my interviewer was a GORGEOUS Chinese lady!!!
1) walk through the CV
2) why LBS, why MiF; (i analyzed and compared MBA, MiF and MFE, and i concluded that MiF is for me (to show that im serious abt this program), then LBS is on top: great reputation, unparallel location, more experienced student composition...)
3) teamwork exp. (i didnt give specific example, instead, i described how im dealing with the ppl from different dept. and cultural bgd in my company... the key is communication skills)
4) what will you do if ppl dont cooperate in the project (again, communication skills, i will first understand why, and then maybe re-allocate the job to reflect the strength of each individual to foster higher collaboration....for example...)
5) the avg w/e in this program is 6 years, but you only got 3yrs (the bottom line: i experienced a lot in the past 3yrs, so i look at the quality over the quantity. b/s abt how i survived under the worst time of the financial industry, i've been consitently rated as top 10% performer.... b/s abt the projects i did to highlight my leadership exp...)
6) any challenging accomplishment (i started with my weakness, then shared a story about how i completed a big project, in the same time overcome my weakness...)
7) career plan (just follow what i wrote in the essay)
8) anything you read from newspaper, books, journals.. recently, anything
9) other casual chat, and any question i had
PS: Sorry, i dont wanna hurt CD, i think CD is d-best website for GMAT, but in terms of application, there are too much noise floating on the internet forums, some are really distracting and even discouraging. It's good to get general understanding about the application process and relevant information, but the most important is concentrate on your own profile. Wandering on the forums, you may easity get a wrong impression abt how "impossible" to get in, but it really not. Many ppl will worship so called 大牛, actually they are 大牛 only because they made it, butif you try, you work hard, you got confidence and determination... you can also be 大牛.
