under the guidance of my professor Peter Guttorp, two of my classmates and I conducted the research on the topic of “whether the frequency of large snowstorms and intensity of annual accumulation of snowfall on the East Coast and the West Coast have been increasing in recent years”. Having collected data from historical snowfall data for about twenty cities in both U.S and Canada from 1912 to 2016, we started to analyze data from different perspectives by using visualization, regression analysis and permutation test based on the application of R and Excel. Eventually, we found it cannot be concluded that the frequency of large snowstorms is increasing in any of the coastal region. Instead, there is a decreasing trend in most West Coast cities studied. Meanwhile, the annual cumulative amount of snowfall has either stayed the same or decreased over the observed time ranges. People who have wealth and reputation are many times unsuccessful in life. They may live with loneliness and sadness. Therefore, happiness is the key production of successful.
