Hi guys, just received Stanford interview invitation. Any help regarding the interview content and style, as well as what to wear would be extremely helpful.

Also, I was told that the interview will be approximately 45 min and will be conducted by an alumni.

Please help.

As for the dresssing code, you\'d better ask your interviewer. Normally suit is ok.

congrats for the interview opportunity. i didn\'t apply for stanford so don\'t know anything about their interview questions. but as far as for dress code, i would go with dark suit. this is from my experience in the east coast...not very sure about the west coast. in general, you can\'t go wrong with being a little over formal, but it would be very wrong with not formal enough. so when in doubt, dress formally.

I applied round II on Jan. 6th.

Very young, less than 2 year work exprience. Graduated from a 60 to 100 ranking US business school. GMAT 760.

got invitation on Jan 27th. Appointment is settled today. The alumni want to go to a Starbucks (a coffee house) to conduct interview. Please help. I have never got such casual interview before.

among the top schools stanford is probably the one paying least attention on weight of interview, only assigning an alumnus to evaluate your communication skills thru your basic ideas about career and life. so just take it easy. remember to be professional-although it\'ll be at a casual lieu, be enthusiastic, and be urself.

Guys,

I had my interview today. hope this helps!

First this guy started off by saying that he was here because \'The Stanford business school played a huge role in who i am today and where i have got to\' and explained how the process works \'Unfortunately the interview only plays a very small role in your total evaluation\' and the interview is \'to confirm the qualities that Stanford saw in you when they invited you to interview\'.

Then he showed me some massive enlarged pics of Stanford all round his office (I can see now he was a devoted alum) and asked me which ones i liked. I\'ve been to Stanford so i could make some relevant comments.

He then asked me:

Why MBA

Why Stanford

Why Now, why do i need it to achieve my career goal (head of global CPG) - couldn\'t i just do it by carrying on and climbing the ladder at my current firm?

Examples of teamwork

What career decision had i regretted most in the past

Which way is my industry headed and why

My educational background

What do i uniquely bring to Stanford

I believe i gave him convincing (albeit a bit long) answers to each of the above.

Then he left the floor open to me and answered all my questions enthusiastically. By this time we were bonding well and he really sold Stanford to me saying there is only GSB and this is it.

我也觉得stanford 的面试可能在最后的决定上作用不大，stanford面试一般是alumni进行的。问的问题一般比较普通，why stanford, why mba, why now, 而所谓的teamwork and leadership就没有问到了。校友面试一般较随便，所以可能问一些没有正确答案的东西，比如，你觉得女孩子应该是career woman or family woman, 诸如此类吧。　这是我自己的一点经验，斟酌吧。希望你运气好：）
