Lewin is tough and pls be careful;

Simon prefers ppl with strong quantitative ability/background; b/c in simon, every course is closely related to stat.  and very quantitative. If you do not have a good quantitative background or ability to quickly learn stat., simon school life will be extremely tough for you---believe me!!!!

Prefer teamwork; very course has lots teamwork; in some courses, teamwork counts on 50% of grades

I just finished a telephone interview with Levin and feel unfortable because she is not like the admi as i expected to be kind and friendly.

doitmyway buddy, don't worry! that's Lewin, she is extremely tough, the most tough one in Simon. It is not necessary to worry about the result: just wait; or try to write her an email to talk more about your strength----but i bet she won't reply your email^_^. She won't show her attitudes towards prospective during interview, even if she decides to give your offer at that time. If Simon wants you, it gives you offer in 3 days, no longer than 10 days.

Well, every year simon recruite more than 10 students, around 12~14; but as far as i know, a few directly from Mainland and many live in USA or Canada for a long time. Only 4 students (entered in Sept.--Fall students) directly from Mainland in 2004. But Simon recruit a lot (about 6 chinese) Spring students (entered in 2005 Jan.) while the class has only 31 students.

Dear Leeciao,

I will have a phone interview with Claudia Casciani on Mar.1. Do you have any information about him/her? I even do not know how to pronounce "Casciani". Indeed I have been interviewed by Ellen Zuroski in Guangzhou during the MBA tour. So seems I will have the second interview with simon. My god, I really didnot expect it. Is it pro or con?

The interview question is very common: why MBA, why simon, financial aid, cross-cultural experience, etc. Take it easy.

By saying "financial aid", do you mean she will ask me how to finance my study in simon?

For "cross-cultural experience", I had little idea about how to answer, because I worked in a state-owned company and had little international exposure. Do you have any advice?

Yes, you are right. She will ask you the financial resource you can get to support your MBA study.

Because I worked with a lot of expatriate staffs, it was not a difficult question for me. I think you can illustrate your own consideration about the gap difference, such as different characteristic of western and eastern people etc. Hope it can help.

1. what kind of team working expereince do you have?
2. What traits can you bring to Simon? Name two of them.
3. what are your long term and short term goals?
4. what questions do you have for Simon?

interviewed with Mr. Lewin yesterday

normal qustion:
1) tell something about yourself: working experience, motive to apply for MBA
2) Why Simon
3) What's your strength  针对回答做了一些展开
4）Have u done any volunteer work in the USA 
5) time to ask question

did not ask me how to finance my study, so I had to asked her :(

Mr. Lewin蛮年轻的，看上去很干练，说话语速很快，问问题的时候很有针对性，不小心说漏嘴就会被抓住把柄一直问到底的感觉，幸好谈到simon finance的排名的时候很开心的笑了起来，缓解了我的紧张情绪，然后就开始瞎扯，好象说错话了 ：（

严格的说，Ellen不是ADMIT CO.的人，但每年她都会出去（偶至今再纳闷她出去干吗）

claudia非常nice－－（整个simon除了lewin其他都不aggressive),挺年轻的，长的狠pp,不过simon的人都挺好看的，（staff,faculty,---even prof.!)
