一些题外话。今年 IS phd 申请难度不小，主要是因为大量美国 native 申请，据我所知 top school（top4）发的 offer 基本都给了 native（包括华裔）.IS research trend 在逐渐倾向于 hardcore 化，做 algorithm 的比较受欢迎，过去发表的文章不能完全反映 current trend，毕竟那些文章也是多年前的 Working paper 了。

Wharton is 非常喜欢有 CS 相关学位的人，如果没有 CS，DS 相关学位，可能不太有优势，不如省一下申请费。NYU 据我所知也有偏好。 UMD Smith 近期财政紧张，申请系统会问 2 次是否接受 self-funded，可自行定夺， 硕士尽量在海外读，英语环境很重要，即使是 zoom 也是英语环境。口语对面试很重要，英语好面试才不会 feel too nervous. 申请在逐渐变得 tough, 早做准备，重在过程。

面试是之前的，不是这个周。
