这是个每年都有，跟很多想做咨询的 MBA 新生都息息相关的项目，但是很奇怪网上的消息和资料介绍非常少，之前准备的时候搜的简直不要太心累。所以决定趁着自己还记忆犹新，简单总结下怎么回事，希望能对后来人有点帮助。

一、项目简介

“Emerging Scholars presents an early introduction to the firm, which will enable you to build relationships with our consultants and your peers in advance of the fall recruiting season.” 


我感觉这是一个很小的 initiative，说白了就是公司由此在 MBA 开学前就先捞一波简历，通过一点奖学金吸引大家的注意，在人才抢夺战中掌握先机。类似的还有 BCG Fellow（有钱）和 ExperienceBain（没钱）。但因为申请流程非常简单，也没有申请费，再说了蚊子腿再小也是一块肉，有点钱拿总是好的，所以如果post-MBA对咨询感兴趣的话，我觉得类似的项目能报的都应该报一下。同时，大家可以保持平常心，怀着试一试的心态，不用太当回事，具体原因在 benefits 里面说。

二、Timeline

每年的时间线应该是类似的，分享下今年的：

5 月初申请截止（具体可以参考官网）
5 月末收到通知是否进入下一轮 (semi-finalist)
然后会飞快的进行第一轮面试
6 月初收到通知是否进入下一轮 (finalist)
6 月中旬进行第二轮面试
7 月初通知最终是否入选
如果选中的话，7 月末会被邀请到美国的公司参加一个周末活动


三、Target School

一共 17 所，仅限即将入学的全日制 MBA，具体名单从官网里贴过来的：

之所以没有 MIT，是因为 MIT 跟麦肯锡还有一个单独的项目：The McKinsey Award.MIT 的学生不需要再报一次名，会直接根据申请 package 进行评估，选上了的会在 early fall semester 给通知同时给 $10k。

四、Odds & Benefits

这个部分有点意思，因为官方模棱两可，网上众说纷纭。再加上我也在等结果跟开学，所以底下的内容都是“据说/Rumor”，比如参考了这个 reddit 的帖子 https://www.reddit.com/r/MBA/comments/8s9l16/didanyoneapplyforthemckinseyemerging/

首先，官方说法：

Emerging Scholars is a scholarship, a support network, and a coaching resource to help you get the most out of your MBA experience and to help you prepare for your guaranteed McKinsey interview. Package:

Monetary awards for the highest performing applicants.
Individual mentorship with McKinsey consultants.
Celebration event for the Emerging Scholars.


民间传言：

据说奖励是 10k.
据说不用被选为 scholar，只要入选 finalists 都会在开学后被安排一个 mentor，具体安排参考每个学校对应的 recruiter 的邮件。除此之外还据说大家会被 recruiter 和 consultant 各种勾搭，能创造很多聊天的机会，在 networking 方面能省点事
