根据不完全统计，在OG16所有语法题目里面，目前只有一个题目的选项出现了奇怪的being~
根据以往经验，看到being都是秒杀有木有？？？
但就是有例外，因此，单纯的不假思索的删掉含有being的选项已经不那么靠谱了~
这道题出现在OG16的110题里，比较靠后，但我感觉因为GMAC那帮老头摸清楚了大家的解题思路，所以更倾向于把正确的选项里加上being~
废话不多说，上题！

E为正确选项，长的很恶，有木有？ 但人家就是正确的又怎样？
先把另外几个选项的错误根据RON大神和OG解释，来删一遍！
首先，弄清楚文章想表达的意思： This sentence explains that an executive who is blindly committed to a proven course of action is likely to overlook or misinterpret indicators that the plan may no longer be working. The sentence needs to make clear who may misinterpret these indicators. 也就是说excutive盲目的采用以往的xx已经是不行啦，因为这可能导致他们忽视一些错误，因为以往的xx已经不再有效了。
A。Heavy commitment byan executive to a course of action, especially if it has worked well in thepast, makes it likely to miss signs of incipient trouble or misinterpret themwhen they do appear.
"heavy commitment by an executive to a course of action"is awkward and difficult to read. (you may have to be a native speaker to pickup on this, though) much moreimportantly: * makes it likely to miss... this doesn't work. technically, thiswould mean that "it" - an unspecified entity - is likely to miss thesigns. if you use the "it is ADJ..." construction, and the verb has aspecific subject, you MUST include that subject in the construction. it islikely that the executive will miss...
B。Anexecutive who is heavily committed to a course of action, especially one thatworked well in the past, makes missing signs of incipient trouble or misinterpretingones likely when they do appear.
notice that you have a sentencethat says that the executivehim/herself makes missing thesigns likely.
"misinterpreting ones" is also wrong. thisshould be "them", not "ones".
这个B相当有迷惑性啊啊啊！但是后来仔细一看，B想表达的意思居然居然是An executive makes missing signs of incipient trouble or misinterpreting ones likely when they do appear 后面的D也犯了这个错误。
C。An executive who is heavily committed to a course of action is likely to missor misinterpret signs of incipient trouble when they do appear, especially ifit has worked well in the past.
'it' is ambiguous, becauseit could potentially refer either to 'course of action' (the intendedantecedent) or to 'incipient trouble'. also note that grammatical parallelismdoesn't help: both of those possible antecedents areobjects of prepositions - neither is the subject of its own clause (which wouldthereby create parallelism with 'it', which is the subject of its clause).
(D)Executives’ being heavily committed to a course of action, especially if it hasworked well in the past, makes them likely to miss signs of incipient troubleor misinterpreting them when they do appear.
Misinterpreting should be an infinitive verb form to parallel miss; thephrasing throughout the sentence is wordy and awkward.
所以说，你艰难的排除了四个不靠谱的选型以后，只剩下了E.Beingheavily committed to a course of action, especially one that has worked well inthe past, is likely to make an executive miss signs of incipient trouble ormisinterpret them when they do appear. 这个句子真的是好不清纯好做作，看上去就和外面的妖艳贱货一样呢！
但没办法！这就是正确的选项！
首先，句子表意正确，指代正确，没有语法错误！
特别注意，在这里Being heavily committed to a course of action就相当于整个句子的主语，将句子主谓连起来Being heavily committed to a course of actionis likely to …………灰常完整，虽然看起来很变扭！
所以，根据RON大神总结~~~（敲黑板）
1.being被唯一排除的情况就是：
you should avoid "being"when expressing the IDENTITY or CHARACTERISTICS of some individual or thing. 在描述一个人或者一个事物的时候，用到的being就是冗余，就是错误选项！
this is because "being" isusually unnecessary in such cases; there are simpler modifiers (such asappositives) that, while absolutely impossible to use in spoken language, arebetter in written language.
example:
being a cigar aficionado, john has strongopinions on when to use single-guillotine cigar cutters rather thandouble-guillotine cutters. -->bad.
a cigar aficionado, john has strong opinionson when to use single-guillotine cigar cutters rather than double-guillotinecutters. --> good. noticethat we can simply omit the "being" here.
2.在你不造含有being的选项是否正确的时候，你尝试着省略being，看看句子是否可行，意思是否发生改变。（ try omitting it and see whether the sentence is still viable, perhaps with minor modifications.）在E这里，省略掉being以后，整个句子变成：
Heavilycommitted to a course of action, especially one that has worked well in thepast, is likely to make an executive miss signs of incipient trouble ormisinterpret them when they do appear.
句子不再可行！因为主语没有了。
3.在GMAT考试中你遇到being……充当modify的概率少之又少,因为你会发现删掉了being以后，句子肯定会更简洁。（这也是110题之前好多错误选项里有being就是wordy的原因。）
i.e.,
Being tired from the party, I fell asleep in less than one minute --> not ok
Tired from the party, I fell asleep in less than one minute --> ok
再次大总结：
if "being" expresses IDENTITY orCHARACTERISTICS, then kill it.
otherwise, evaluate it on the same merits as youwould any other verb.所以对being不要再有歧视喽！
